There are 8 slides altogether in the presentation. I allowed approximately 2 minutes per slide. I didn't produce a detailed storyboard to begin with, but I did plan the topics and the order of the slides. I also decided to use a master slide that looks like a television screen/computer monitor to reflect the subject of the debate. When I showed the first draft of the presentation to my teacher she said I needed to reduce the amount of text on each screen and just highlight the key points. I tried out different ways of doing this but liked the animated speech bubbles best. I think they work well and make the presentation more interesting to watch. On one of the websites I visited I noticed how they used contrasting colours to make things stand out so I used a similar technique for the bubbles. I also got the idea for the big quotation marks from a website. I think they're really effective. I did try out my presentation on electronic whiteboard. The colours work well and the writing is clear even at the back of the room. I used quite lot of the text that I took out of the slides in my speaker notes. I didn't get a chance to actually give the presentation to an audience but I think the notes would help me a lot. Charlotte was my test user. She watched the presentation and looked at my notes. She thought the speaker notes added a lot of extra information to the slides and said I would need to make sure I didn't miss anything out. She liked my 'ask the audience' idea on slide 6. |
