I think headteachers might want to use the database to check out facts e.g. how many children spend more time playing computer games and watching television than doing exercise (Report 1), do girls spend less time than boys playing computer games (Report 2). Another use of the database could be to identify individuals and groups, e.g. young children whose use of screen-based media is not controlled. These children are at risk and headteachers might want to contact their parents to persuade them to supervise what their children are watching (Report 3). Headteachers could also use the database to compare their school with others (Report 4). Although the names of children are missing, the database could be used to produce personalised letters e.g. inviting children who like watching films to join the film club (Report 5). |
