Welcome to my Medal Page. Before I started to design my Medal I read the DiDA brief to find out the size the medal had to be.

Once I found out the medal size I drew a circle on fireworks using the ellipse tool. I then used the paint bucket tool to fill the background of the medal in gold. A drop shadow effect was added to the medal to give it a 3D effect.

I decided on designing a medal for the winners of the Javelin, so I created a simple vector graphic on fireworks of an athlete throwing a javelin. I then added a drop shadow effect to the graphic and put it at the top of the back of the medal.

Using the polygon tool of fire works, I created 5 small stars. Each star is a different Olympic colour, I then put all the stars in a horizontal line in Olympic colour order. I thought this looked quire plain so I added a motion trail to each of the stars.

All I had to add to the back of the medal was text, like the logo I decided to use the font 'BankGothic Lt BT' but I changed text colour to black this time, finally I added a drop shadow effect to the writing.

On the front of the medal I just put my Get Set! For 2012 logo on it.
